Summerween in Salem is a women-only photography retreat crafted for those who seek to capture the haunting beauty of a city wrapped in mystery and history. Wander ancient cobblestone streets beneath drifting fog, explore cemeteries where restless spirits linger, and dive into stories of witch trials and chilling murder mysteries that have echoed through centuries.
Across three unforgettable days, embrace the thrill of summer slasher vibes as you shoot alongside like-minded creatives—capturing beach-side sunsets, multiple moody sets, filming locations, eerie harbors and the enigmatic charm of local landmarks like the Lizzie Borden House. Share in laughter, art, and sisterhood as you sail the harbor and explore the depths of Salem’s spellbinding past. This retreat is an invitation to not just witness history—but to live, create, and connect within it with a fierce sisterhood by your side. A digital gallery of solo, bestie, and group images will be available to download 6–8 weeks after the retreat, preserving your memories and creative moments. Lodging options include cozy shared rooms at $1,900 per person (two queens per room, two guests max) or private solo rooms at $2,200. Each stay covers three nights, meals, tours, and activities—everything you need for an unforgettable Summerween experience!

Day 1
Monday June 1, 2026
A Spellbinding Arrival
A Spellbinding Start
Guests arrive and check in at 10 AM, giving them time to settle, freshen up, and prepare for the adventure ahead. At noon, we gather in the hotel lobby for a cozy meet-and-greet, where you’ll be welcomed by Steph and her assistant Tiffany. The night before, we’ll have placed curated tote bags in your room — each filled with a Salem shopping guide, local map, a small souvenir, and a handpicked summer slasher novel if you’re a book girlie!
We’ll head straight into the heart of Salem with lunch at a lively downtown spot like The Derby, then dive into our first wave of tourism: exterior and interior photos at the Witch House, iconic Hocus Pocus locations, and a stroll through the boutiques on Essex Street. You'll also get an aura photography session at Ascend — the perfect mystical keepsake.
As golden hour sets in, we’ll make our way to Salem Willows for nostalgic beach vibes: toes in the sand, arcade games, and dreamy summer portraits by the shore. We’ll wind down with dinner and well-earned rest to prepare for the haunting day ahead.
Day 2
Tuesday June2, 2026
Haunted Legends & Ocean Light
After breakfast at the hotel, we hit the road for an unforgettable morning at the infamous Lizzie Borden House. We’ll explore the historic site and shoot moody portraits in the historic cemetery where the family plot lies. Then we’ll break for lunch before returning to Salem for a picturesque afternoon at the Ropes Mansion gardens and more Hocus Pocus and Rob Zombie filming locations.
As the day softens, we’ll embark on a stunning sunset harbor cruise — a floating evening filled with photo ops, laughter, and drinks from the on-board bar & grill. For those who prefer land to sea, an alternate plan includes a tour of the House of Seven Gables or a magical visit to Wynott’s Wand Shop, where you can select a handcrafted wand of equal value to the cruise.
After the sun sets, we’ll lace up for a chilling ghost tour through Salem’s historic streets — led by lantern light and packed with eerie lore.
Day 3
Wednesday June 4, 2026
Glamour, Grief & Games
We’ll begin the morning with breakfast and get ready for one of the most glamorous shoots of the trip — the Love Witch House!! Prepare to channel your inner enchantress in this exclusive, cinematic space featuring 7 rooms and cottage out back. Afterward, we’ll enjoy lunch and shift into a quieter, more reflective moment at the Witch Trials Memorial, where each guest will place a single rose in honor of the lives lost.
We’ll then stroll through Salem for personal time or shopping, with optional tarot readings available (client-paid) for those craving a glimpse into their fate. Later, we’ll visit the BlackCraft Haunt — a bold, immersive space where you’re free to take photos and pause in awe of the spooky details of their fine craftsmanship!
We’ll cap the evening with our farewell hangout at Bit Bar: cocktails, yummy dishes, vintage arcade games, and a final night to laugh, connect, and celebrate the magic we’ve made together.
Where Are We Staying?
The Best Western Plus North Shore Hotel is conveniently located just 15 miles north of Boston and only 7 miles from historic Salem. This Danvers, MA hotel in the Greater Boston area is near the Salem Witch Museum, the Peabody Essex Museum, the New England Aquarium and the Museum of Science.
Guests of this Danvers, MA hotel will enjoy a free full hot breakfast that includes a make-your-own waffle station, eggs, sausage and features a variety of morning delights such as mini-muffins, assorted yogurts, hot and cold cereal, English muffins, bagels & cream cheese, doughnuts, juices and coffee.

- Monthly payments are required. Multiple payments or higher payments are always welcome.
- Payment amounts may vary slightly depending on your deposit date.
- Booking earlier means smaller monthly payments — payment plans are flexible to help you manage.
- A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot.
- There are no refunds or discounts for cancellations, missed events, late arrivals, early departures, travel delays, illness, or any unforeseen circumstances.
- Participants must honor their payment plans as agreed in the signed contract.
- If a client stops communicating or stops making payments without notice, they forfeit their spot with no refund or transfer.

Life happens. We strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance from a third-party provider of your choice. It may protect your investment in the event of unexpected illness, emergencies, or cancellations. Research carefully and choose a plan that best fits your needs.

Participants must be 21+ with a valid ID provided during application.
Locations and schedules may change due to venue conflicts, weather, or unforeseen issues — no refunds or discounts will be given. Backup plans will be in place to ensure a great experience.
Clients are responsible for their own travel to and from the retreat. The Spooky Girl Retreats team provides transportation only during the retreat to scheduled shoots, events, and restaurants.
